What is Connections?
Connections is a non-profit, homeschool organization that empowers you, as a homeschooling parent, to educate and equip your children by providing arts and academic classes in a large, supportive, and welcoming community. We offer over 100 classes from preschool through 12th grade on Mondays in Everett and Wednesdays in Lynnwood.
Classes range from Art, Band, Drama and Choir to Languages, Logic, Bible, History, English, Literature, Communication, Science, Technology and Math. Students may enroll in as few as one or as many as ten courses over the two days.
Instructors are chosen for their subject expertise and their passion for working with students. Classes meet once a week on campus, university model style, where parents supervise their student in the at-home work that our instructors have prepared. You are free to tailor the work to your child’s unique needs. As a homeschooling parent you are ultimately responsible for your children’s education, but our instructors partner with you in the process.
More About Who We Are
Students may enroll in any Connections class if they are homeschooled. Students who also participate in a public school/parent partnership like Northshore Networks or the HEE are also welcome to attend. Likewise, students who have been previously homeschooled and are concurrently enrolled in Running Start are eligible for Connections’ classes.
Connections is not an accredited school or part of the public school system, and thus cannot provide you with a transcript. There are many resources available to help you with that process, so if you need some direction in finding them, please ask!
We are not a co-op in a traditional sense of the word, where all families vote on every issue and classes are taught by parent volunteers. Connections has a volunteer board, and our instructors are independent contractors. However, we could not exist without our parents! Every family is asked to perform a job which may require that you arrive 30 minutes before your first class or remain 30 minutes after your last class. All other jobs are completed during the hours your students have classes.
Our Guiding Principles
Although Connections is a non-profit, Christian organization, all homeschooling families are welcomed. We ask that our families be respectful of our Statement of Faith and Beliefs while on campus, regardless of personal religious or non-religious affiliation. Within our community and our leadership teams, we also strive to always keep our purpose, mission, and vision in mind.
Purpose: To empower homeschooling families to educate their children.
Mission: To partner with parents to educate and equip students by providing arts and academic classes in a supportive, Christ-centered community.
Vision: Well-prepared young adults who pursue Christ and courageously impact their world.
We look forward to welcoming you into our Connections family with open hearts and arms!
